What is the C.I.A.?
The C.I.A. in Spartanburg is Christmas in Action Spartanburg. Christmas in Action Spartanburg is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that, in partnership with the community, repairs homes of elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged homeowners to provide for their continued safety and independence. To date, 623 homes in 17 local communities have benefitted. Improvements included roof repairs and replacement, electrical repairs, plumbing renovations, and painting.
Christmas In Action - The History
Founded in 1997, Christmas in Action Spartanburg coordinates the efforts of concerned individuals, businesses, churches, civic clubs, and other agencies in providing home maintenance for qualified homeowners who cannot afford to make the repairs themselves. We recruit over 1000 volunteers each year to give hope and a helping hand to these homeowners. And, it is all free to the homeowner.
The Christmas in Action (C.I.A.) Mission is to rehabilitate the houses of elderly, disabled, and otherwise disadvantaged homeowners, to provide for their continued safety and independence. These are the people that have no voice and have largely been forgotten in our society. They have nowhere else to turn; and, at times we are all that stand between them and losing their home. Eighty-six percent of our clients are elderly widows. Their home is all they have left in the world. By qualifying for our program and receiving much needed repairs they are able to stay in that home and keep their valued independence.
But, Christmas in Action cannot do what we do without people – like you – to help us raise money. You see, we pay for building materials and volunteers do the manual labor. On average, we need $1,000 to cover the cost of each project.

What is the C.I.A.'s "Most Wanted"?
The C.I.A.’s “Most Wanted” is a signature event hosted by Christmas in Action Spartanburg. Net proceeds from this event will benefit the organization and its programs.
The C.I.A.’s “Most Wanted” candidates will compete for the honor of being this year’s most notorious fundraiser. Every dollar raised counts as one vote. The title of C.I.A.’s “Most Wanted” Ambassador will be awarded to the individual who raises the most dollars throughout the campaign.

"Notorious C.I.A." Party
To celebrate the culmination of fundraising efforts by the C.I.A.'s "Most Wanted" Candidates, the second annual "Notorious C.I.A." Party will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Piedmont Club. Guests may wear "undercover" attire such as trench coats, C.I.A. jackets, or anything James Bond.
Throughout the evening the C.I.A's "Most Wanted" will circulate through the crowd soliciting additional dollars. In addition, C.I.A. operatives will mingle with guests, encouraging them to enjoy the dance floor and other entertainment.
